† 1. Januar 1953 bei Knoxville (Alabama) war ein berühmter US-amerikanischer Countrymusiker, der zahlreiche Musiker wie zum Beispiel Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan und vor allem David Allan Coe beeinflusste. Seine ersten Akkorde auf der Gitarre lernte Williams vom schwarzen Straßenmusiker Rufus "Tee Tot" Payne.
